Circa 1940 French upholstered accent chair decorated with two-tone floral motifs. The legs and frame are painted green and parcel-gilt. Also named slipper chairs, these kind of occasional chairs lack arms and sit low to the ground. These high-back chairs got their name during the Victorian era, when they were used to seat women while they slip on their shoes.
